From 2009 – 14 Hafal was funded by the Big Lottery Mental Health Matters programme to help our clients – people with serious mental illness and their carers – with their employment, training, education and volunteering goals.
The project we set up was ‘Short Steps’, a Wales-wide advice, information and support service for our clients. It was called ‘Short Steps’ because taking short steps is the best way to help people with serious mental illness and their carers achieve their employment-related ambitions.
This website shares the information gathered during the Short Steps project. It provides practical tips, case studies and also films of our clients explaining the barriers they faced in achieving their goals and how they overcame them. It also has links to other sites you may find useful.
